Узнай свою скорость чтения на 3D-барабане.

Начни с 250 слов в минуту. Прочитай короткий отрывок на барабане и ответь на 2 вопроса: если всё верно, следующий отрывок пойдёт быстрее — до 650 WPM.

Paper reading vs. the EyeStill 3D drum.

On a static page, about a third of reading time goes to physically moving and re-aligning the eyes across lines (Rayner et al., 2016; Brysbaert, 2019). Keeping the eyes still on a single point removes travel time while our book reader engine preserves natural cognitive pauses.

02 — Questions

How the progressive drum test works.

Why does the test increase speed in steps from 250 to 650 WPM?

Jumping straight into 500 WPM feels jarring if your eyes are still trying to scan left-to-right. Starting at 250 WPM lets your gaze relax onto the red Optimal Recognition Point (ORP) letter, and each passed comprehension check steps the drum up by 100 WPM until you miss a question on a short passage.

Why is my speed on the EyeStill drum much higher than my normal reading speed?

When you read normal lines of text, your eyes make four to five physical jumps (saccades) every second, plus backward regressions when a line break or word is missed. On the 3D drum, your eyes stay still while peripheral words remain visible on the curve and the cognitive engine slows down on rare words and clause endings.

Can I read full books at my tested WPM?

Yes. Click Open EyeStill Reader to read EPUB, FB2, or TXT books on the exact same 3D drum engine, or install the Chrome extension for YouTube subtitles, ChatGPT, and Claude.
