EyeStill — Terms of Service

These terms cover EyeStill: the browser extension, the web reader at eyestill.com/read and the app for Claude and ChatGPT (the MCP server at eyestill.com/mcp). By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use EyeStill.

The service

EyeStill shows text one word at a time at a single point of focus: video subtitles, AI answers, books and web pages. It is free and needs no account. We may change, pause or stop any part of it, and we try to say so on this site in advance when we can.

Fair use

• Use EyeStill for reading, for yourself. Don't use it to copy, mirror or redistribute other people's content.
• Don't try to overload, probe or get around the limits of our servers (for example the app's rate limit), and don't use them to reach private networks or to fetch content you are not allowed to access.
• Don't use EyeStill for anything unlawful.

Content you read

The text you open in EyeStill belongs to its authors and publishers; reading it in EyeStill gives you no extra rights to it. The app fetches only what you ask it to read: a public web page at the address you give, or a public-domain book from Project Gutenberg. Translations of subtitles are machine-made and may contain mistakes.

Privacy

What EyeStill handles, and what it doesn't, is described in the privacy policy.

No warranty

EyeStill is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it working and accurate, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every page, book or video can be read.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss arising from your use of EyeStill or from content you read with it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.

Third-party platforms

The extension runs in Google Chrome, and the app runs inside Claude and ChatGPT. Their own terms apply to your use of those products. EyeStill is not made or endorsed by Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, YouTube or Project Gutenberg.
